Les Petites Salles
Before the current château was built at L’Herm, an earlier moat 5 – 7 meters deep on average, enclosed the site, and the right footings of the entrance gate which sheltered the drawbridge, lodged a stone bridge which is still in place. The plan of the building is still being worked out. [ Archaeology ]

The actual château is in flamboyant gothic style, and was built between 1490 and 1520 by Jean II of Calvimont. [ History ]

It is composed of a rectangular living area 25 x 10 meters (small rooms and grand salons flanked by two huge round towers (small rooms and toilets). The walls are several meters thick. On the other side from the two round towers is is a third tower enclosing a beautiful spiral staircase and the Treasure Room..
